Please pray for the repose of the soul of Padraig Smith, No. 4 Walnut Lane, Kilbeggan, Westmeath, N91KX73

Padraig passed away peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore with his loving family by his side. Predeceased by his father P.J. and his brother-in-law Kenneth Buggy.

Padraig will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Fiona, his daughters Emily, Jane and Rachael, his mother Josie, his brothers Dermot and Kevin, his sisters Brenda (Donnelly), and Joan (Gavin), Una and Ann, his father and mother-in-law Brendan and Carmel Buggy, his brothers-in-law Noel Gavin and Brendan Donnelly, Shane Buggy and Rory Buggy, his sisters-in-law Emma and Narelle, Jules (Dermot’s partner), Aoife Buggy and Ciara Leonard, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home on Wednesday and Thursday evening from 5:00pm until 8:00pm (both evenings). Removal Friday morning (4th September) to the Church of St. James, Kilbeggan for 11:00am Requiem Mass, burial after Mass in the Relic cemetery Kilbeggan.  Mass may be viewed live on  https://www.kilbegganparish.ie/webcam/

Sheila Dunne (née Boland)

Sheila passed away peacefully, 28th August 2026, in the wonderful care of the staff of Bethany House Nursing Home, Tyrrellspass with her heartbroken family by her side. Pre-deceased by her parents Matthew and Ann Boland and infant brother Daniel.

Sheila will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her adoring husband Noel, daughters Edel, Aisling, Melissa and Noelle, sons-in-law Padraig Bracken, Kieran Kennedy and Seamus Dillon, her cherished grandchildren Clodagh, Ciara, Lucas, Rachel, Holly and Esme, sister Anne Glennon, brothers-in-law Paul and Seán, sisters-in-law Mary, Anne and Gretta, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Sheila will repose at her home, Avondale, Rahugh, Kilbeggan, (N91 A9D6), on Saturday 29th August from 4pm until Rosary at 7pm. Removal from her home on Sunday to St Hugh’s Church, Rahugh (N91 Y009) for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Tyrrellspass cemetery.


Anthony (Tony) Smyth

Tony passed away peacefully on the 28th August 2026 in his 95th year at home in the company of his family. Predeceased by his son Ray and son-in-law Liam McEniff.

Dearly loved husband of Liz, and beloved father to John and Trish, daughters-in-law Deirdre and Wendy, beloved grandfather to Lucy, Tom, Joey and Adam and brothers-in-law. Sadly missed by all his nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, good neighbours and many great friends.

Fintan Scally

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Fintan Scally, Camillaun Park, Newcastle, Galway and formerly of Pallas, Rahugh, Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath.

On Wednesday, the 19th of August 2026, Fintan passed away peacefully at The Galway Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Nora and loving son of the late Fintan and Molly Scally.

Fintan will be sadly missed by his brothers Frank, Liam, Damien, Raymond, Edmund and Desmond, sisters Gretta Clear and Carmel Minnock, brothers-in-law (especially Robert), sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May Fintan Rest in Peace

Reposing at St. Pio’s Room, within the Church of the Sacred Heart, Westside, Galway (H91 E781), on Friday the 21st August from 6:00pm followed by removal at 7:00pm into the adjoining church.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday the 22nd of August at 10:00am. Fintan will then be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery (H91 XW62) with his loving wife Nora.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Joe Kenny, Fancroft, Roscrea, Offaly / Roscrea, Tipperary, who died peacefully, at home on 9th August, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his son, Enda (Kenny’s shop), his parents, Michael and Mary (née Keating), sister, Julia (Bergin), and brothers, Fr. Peter (I.C.), Frank, Michael, and Oliver, and his brothers-in-law, Tom and Paddy.
